Research in service of rights, environment and human mobility
CHREMIR is a multidisciplinary research hub within the Department of International Relations, University of Chittagong — a nonpartisan academic centre, think tank and change agent for South Asia and beyond.
A hub, a think tank, and a change agent
The Center for Human Rights, Environment and Migration Research (CHREMIR) studies the intersections of human rights, environmental justice and migration — including forced displacement, climate-induced migration, statelessness and labour mobility.
Housed in the Department of International Relations at the University of Chittagong, CHREMIR aims to become a leading South Asian academic hub: generating rigorous evidence, shaping policy, and building the next generation of researchers through fellowships, training and interdisciplinary collaboration.
